Diospyros embryopteris - mainly from Laos, this is one of the attention-getters in any
collection. The wood has a creamy yellow color with dark black veining that is really
pronounced. A joy to turn, this is one of the more difficult exotics to dry. Most items are
turned complete in one go, and then sealed with finish to try and slow the drying as much
as possible. Truly an 'exotic' looking exotic that is worth the extra efforts when you see
the end results.
This stuff is wild and the patterns
are endless. Each piece is
unique. Photos provided by Hobbit

A cloes-up look of the stock on
hand. These are the 3" x 3" x
12" pieces, and are listed as A,
B, and C from left to right. They
are in the same order on the
bottom photo. The middle piece
(B) has a grain pattern that is
sometimes referred to as
Dalmation Ebony or Dot Ebony
and is usually priced higher as
being more rare. All three of
these are at $65.00 each.
A AND B ARE SOLD!
