Fancy Stuff For Woodturners
Peltogyne pubescens - yes, it really is purple, and will be shades of dark violet when freshly
cut. This will turn to a chocolate brown color as it ages. Easy to turn and finish, this is
another exotic that people love to see. This comes from Central and South America, and
I've seen it used as pallets and construction timber in these areas. Less expensive than a
lot of the exotics, and it also comes in sizes for those big bowls and platters.
A freshly sawn plank, and different sized samples showing some of the range of colors. A very
distinctive color that will add a great look to your projects. Photos from Hobbit House.
